Giving His Son

Loving us so much
we his earthly children
born with feet of clay
the treasure of the creator
loved especially

Given such favor
though we sin against him
sacrificing such a gift
giving his son
that we may be reclaimed

So freely, at such an awful cost
the father and the son
each a party to the choice
the baby son of Mary
Given to us by God
