But a Breath

For each one
our lives
man is but a breath
our days but a whisper
here and then we are gone
departed from the stage
this walk, this mortal coil

Oh that knew, in our bones
the number of our days
that we would be mindful
conscious of the limits
of this mortal life
that we would live with you
guided by you all of our days
