Our marks in the sand

Our steps on the earth
what will we leave behind
our marks in the sand
the fleeting sands of time

Our choice to live
by the world or for God
to treasure our possessions
or to be his feet and hands

To love our neighbor
or the things that rust
to live for his glory
or to stumble in the dust

Our Footprints on the Earth

We, humankind
footprints on the earth
global consequences to our choices
whether divinely made
of cosmic dust
coalesced into our shape
footprints, in the ground,
the water, the air
rippling down through time
ending we know not where
