Answer me when I pray

Our cry in the night
when we don’t know what to do
when we are turned around
when we feel far from You

Answer me when I pray
in our humanness
needing to trust in you
in your holiness

You will answer Lord
of this we are assured
but we want it now
the desires of our hearts

Needing to be patient
persistent at the same time
trusting you will answer
in the appropriate way
