Nine Precious Words

A reminder in scripture
in the songbook of the people
how we are to remember
the majesty of God

Nine precious words
each important
centering our very lives
around the majesty of God

Not for anything,
not an antecedent
standing alone as a prayer
our giving thanks to God

Not for a season
not for a reward
thanking God itself important
an attitude of grace
of remembering
how precious is the creator
the maker of heaven and earth
