The blazing yellow
offset against the white
the black outlines
the birch before its sleeping
With some green remaining
ribbing the yellow
the intricate lace of the edges
remaining to the end
Before the heavy oak leaves falling
dying in such grace
the princely birch waiting
for the maples to finish
to take the center stage
