The First to See Jesus

The parents in the stable
the animals gathered near
a place to stay that night
when Christ came to earth

Nestled in the manger
the bed with straw laid down
resting his head
when the animals fed

The first to see Jesus
the shepherd from the hills
coming down from their watch
at the angels’ call
