A New King

God’s promise
to His people
a new King would come
from the root of Jesse

From David’s descendants
a new leader for the people
holy is His name
the Messiah, the Christ

God fulfilled
all of His promise
when the Son descended from heaven
when he was laid in the manger bed

We now are waiting
remembering God’s goodness
as we wait for our King
to come riding on the clouds
