The Pageant of the Lord’s Coming

The joy of this season
the pageant of the Lord’s coming
unfolding these weeks
this blessed Advent-tide

Renewing our spirits
like water in the desert
like sight to the blind
healing to the lame

The pageant of Christ’s coming
humble, as the baby
relived each year in praise
for his act of boundless grace

We sing, are joyful
sharing with even strangers
the holy message of His life,
our Savior, our God
descending to the earth
