Would We Have Been Different

In the scripture,
the telling
of the Christ story
from his coming
to his rising in glory
Would we have been different
from the leaders, the people
would we have seen God
in the little baby
in the man who
went to the cross
would we truly have seen Jesus
for the fact of his life
God come to the earth
fulfilling all promise
in the law and the prophets
His story foretold
love pouring out
forgiving us fully
redeeming us to God
