Who We Are to God

We may wonder
when we struggle
unable to feel him
to sense his presence

But we must remember
ever to be mindful
of the grace of God
in the sacrifice of Christ

Who we are to God
not something common
not the mere clay of earth
inert, of no value

We are special
worthy of redemption
God sacrificed himself for us
that we would come alive

Who We Are to Him

The journey of these bits of clay
the vessels of our days
seeking our place in the world
how we can serve and obey

Who we are to God
to our savior, our king
the journey of our lives
this, our offering

Longing to see the Christ
to enter in with him
to feel the touch of his hand
to sense his loving care

Understanding the price he paid
taking on my sin
trying to fathom the depth of his love
his grace reconciling me to him
