In the Flesh of Earth

Wrapped in clay
emptied of his holiness
God descending to earth
walking as a man

Humble, of the dust
temporal, as you and me
here to save the world
for our judgment, destiny

In the flesh of easrth
yet humble, the lamb
choosing the way of the cross
submissive to God’s plan

Dying, laid in the grave
wrapped in the shroud of death
rising to victory
seated in heaven instead

Waiting there for us
preparing mansions in the sky
his grace a way to life
sharing his light with all

In the flesh of man
we walk this earth
lights to our neighbors
journeying through the world
until we go to heaven

Entering Time

Christ, God, Emmanuel
Entering our world
the infinite, unending
entering time,
bound by, defined
human life
a journey between
for the divine
Like him, we too
living on this earth
walking the way of the Christ
born again, by the spirit
washed in his blood
In the image of God
walking in the world
between creation and heaven
ascending once more
