In the Simple Meal

Your presence and power
the gravity of your sacrifice
going to the cross
for me, for all of us

In the simple meal
the bread and the cup
You gave your all
You gave your body up

We come before you
to receive the simple meal
the words you offered
making the cross real

Our eyes newly opened
tears running down
You went to the cross
You wore the thorny crown
