In a Cadence of Sadness

The words flowing freely
like rivers of water
coming to me quickly
yet bringing me to my knees
In a cadence of sadness
thinking of what is about
the judgment of a sister
casting her out
Judging her wanting
because of her love
not something of her choosing
but because of who she is
The stones of the judgment
in each of our hands
yet bound by the verdict
the poison soon at hand
Not seeing an answer
the inexorable conclusion
seeing her a martyr
bearing this burden to her cross
before the church’s resurrection
in a vision and a polity
of inclusion,
more equal to our faith
