To Bear Witness

Not to be silent
to be comfortable in place
to sit on our laurels
to be happy in place

We are to bear witness
to spread the message of love
to harness the Spirit’s power
sent to us from above

To go in its leading
to offer Christ’s holy word
to give ourselves wholly
to redeem broken souls

Humble servants only
willing pots of clay
offering the blessing
poured on us each day
