Loving through God’s eyes

Through the eyes of our Creator
our Savior, our brother
seeking his praises
not that which is imperfect
focusing our lives
on fulfilling his commandments
loving God and
our neighbors as ourselves

Seeing the world through new eyes
loving one another
through God’s loving eyes
seeking to share, to offer
our bodies, our vessels
emptied of the world
to be filled by God’s grace
His mercy overflowing
pouring out of us

Seeking praise of men
standing on this spot
bound to the dust
holding onto
treasures on earth
cleaving to that which rusts

Longing for our credit
pride in our own hands
seeking the praise of others
standing on sinking sand
