They are not being heard

On the streets, to their feet
the dispossessed, us
all of the dreams
the debt, crush
family, set apart
the haves and the have nots
they are not being heard
the cries in the seats of power
displaced, estranged
tearing us apart

calling on President Obama and the world
to act in the Middle East, especially in Libya and Bahrain,
to stand with the people
yearning to breathe free
and not worrying about the results,
that it is always right to stand for basic human rights
&
on the transformations since the beginning of January -
all the protests in Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Oman,
Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Palestinian Territories, Djibouti, Mauritania, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, etc.
