Forsaken

Rejected, denied
left there to die
forsaken by God
the Son faithful
assuming our station
becoming a sacrifice
submitting to God’s will
yet left, forsaken
to die with the criminals
utterly alone
the sky sackcloth
darkness at midday
forsaken by God
