A Second Time

There wouldn’t be a third
after the consequence of the first
God came to Jonah a second time
calling him to go
to go to the foreign land
the hated city, Nineveh
to warn them of God’s righteousness
his judgment against that land
Jonah went to Nineveh
answering the call of God
humble, going, reluctantly
but obeying the command of God
