We fixate on time
so the pastor said
squirming in the pews
other lists to be dealt with
things we have to do
a little too much truth
about what we say and do
what time is it
is it our time or God’s
do we follow when he calls
do we listen at all
running away from his tasks
the gifts he has given to us
seeking to be far away
at the cost of our focus
our being eaten by the whale
like Jonah reluctant
to do our work today
