Just Capitalizing a Word

The Pharisees, the Sanhedrin
their firm grip on power
wanting to name that Christ
had claimed to be
“king of the Jews”

Pilate’s response,
his bold assertion
the speaking of truth
the word, “King”, on Christ’s sign
not something less than that

Pilate proclaiming, speaking
truth to their power
naming their crime
the Messiah sent to the cross
they were killing the Son of God
