The teaching of Christ

His mercy, compassion
sharing his life with us
coming to them in the upper room
speaking of how to love

The teachings of Christ
speaking a new commandment
a new covenant in his blood
his words spoken to us

The impossible in his words
to love as he loves us
yet this is our calling
as we walk in love

The cross of Christ a beacon
to show the way to glory
sacrificing ourselves for them
leading our brothers, our sisters
sharing the love of God
our witness to them informed
by the power in Christ’s teachings
