Christ’s anguish, his suffering
his humanness
important, no, imperative
to show the weight of the cross
Not denying the cost
embracing the truth of his pain
the suffering and dying of our God
for this our Savior came
We were unable,
to bear the cost of life
God alone able
to pay the price for us
But we cannot deny the cost
Christ was human like us
the pain he felt more real than we like
the truth as dark as this
