The Passover Crowd

The great crowd
all of Jerusalem
those who had seen Lazarus
raised from the dead
those faithful of foreign lands
come to the Passover
come now to see the Christ
his triumphal entrance
into David’s city, Jerusalem
wondering if he was the One
who had long been foretold
whether he was the Messiah
to set God’s people free
