Losing all perspective

coming together with a plan
how we are to argue
to win the day in court
our moment to reach conclusion
a word said a certain way
a muscle twitched in answer
sending them into a spin
caught by ancient emotion
losing all perspective
fear gripping one
the other blathering in anger
