Forgiveness is with you

You could condemn us
cast us into the fire
the whole of mankind
as with Sodom and Gomorrah
You would be righteous
we all have sinned
none could stand the accounting
if you were to begin
Forgiveness is with you
your heart, your nature, O Lord
open to our turning
away from the world
Hope in your mercy
in your loving care
within us in struggle
our hope within you there
