one wakes within us – v2

woken from slumber
more powerful, urgent
a rider, a beast
a mammal, or more ancient

a rider awakens
our masters within
deep and abiding
connected to nerve endings

alive within us
usurping power
the snake, the monster
taking control

woken from slumber
the rider driving
raging within us
deep in our souls
