shame on his name

the judgment God made on David
brought shame on his name
exalted, anointed
appointed king over his people
but God rebuked him
his anger at the parable
raining down on him
his name tarnished
pain heaped on his house
in the sight of all of Israel
how the mighty have fallen
when consumed by sin
