a reversal of fortune

from the top to the pit
from wealth to nothing
in an instant, a flash
a reversal of fortune
but God’s hand remaining
ever watching
doubling the restoring
the lifting of us up
God’s grace upon us
flowing down from heaven
his gift alone
we cannot earn this
God’s hand remaining
lifting us up
