adopted in, grafted in

cut off from our old roots
put into living water
drinking of the nutrients
the soil of the word
leaving the world behind us
adopted in love
grafted in, new life to begin
in the vine of the Lord

grafted in, from our past
like a living shoot,
a new branch,
grafted in, entering
into the body of Christ
a shoot added to the vine
that give us new life
grafted in, included

adopted into the family of God
our old roots replaced
with love divine
the soil of God’s grace
grafted in, growing
into the body of Christ
each one together
growing in new life
