Shame on our nation
compromise hurting
choosing other battles
leaving them unprotected
All of our children,
their parents, our people
needing to be secure
safe within ourselves
All of them covered
that is the mission
the challenge to this nation
this place, this dream
America better
than our politics would mirror
too many hurting
left behind with no help
Our nation should rally
giving voice to this need
all should be healthy
no matter their means
