That Star of Epiphany

Follow that star
the star of Jesus
the light of God
shining upon us
Follow that star
where God leads us
shining that light
for the whole world

We follow our hope
the way of Christ
his star rising
filling our hearts
That star of hope
shining in this night
our joy unfolding
in our journey of life

The star of the Christ-child
that star of peace
speaking of that freedom
that only Jesus brings
That star of peace
bright in its dawning
healing us within
new life in our Savior

That star of joy
the star of our risen Savior
the one at his birth
shining at his rising
God here with us
joy in our hearts
God sending us Jesus
to set us apart
God redeeming our lives
bringing us back to Him
by the blood of Jesus
new life to begin

God’s star of love
light for the world
in the baby Jesus
in the man on the cross
God’s star of love
love for all people
in the one who was foretold
who died for our sins

The star of our Risen Lord
the star of Jesus
shining in the world
ignited by the Spirit
in the lamp within us
the oil of our lives
ourselves the sacrifice
to burn with God’s light
