all around us, false gods
demons, sirens
shouting, singing to us,
nothing holy, divine,
of the earth, of the dust
cacophonous voices calling
to us
pulling us from the Lord
all around us, evil,
beguiling, wooing
seeking to bring us to the
dust
to dust we return
cacophonous voices
yet one true voice remaining
God yet calling to us,
Christ, the Spirit,
to turn and follow me
