What do we see
looking in the mirror
tracks of our lives, the
marks,
written upon our flesh
A harsh self-image
worn down by struggles
the beauty inside
unseen by ourselves
What do we see
looking in the mirror
stripped of judgment
a new image forming
A new image brighter
seeing real beauty
deep within us
wanting to shine
