familiar chains

I have failed to trust you,

to turn my fears, my failures,

my struggles over to you.

I have held them, hoarding them,

but addressing them.

Release me from these

familiar chains.

Help me shed them

once and for all.

Let me be but

the skin on your body,

acting in love

here in the world.
