Night in New Orleans (New Awlins) – v4

The Big Easy
A world away
so different
From my home

My ears rang and sang
With the loud jazz music
The jambalaya
And red crawfish taste like magic
To my tongue, my mouth
The crowds, the colorful noise, the spicy coffee
Music like a brush fire.

I see it all/hear it all
Still again,
hot jazz, cool riffs,
Rhythm and movement
Hips grind
to the tempo, percussion
Body sways,
caught in that place

I lick my lips
And smile
in the memory
For the music and food
Of my soul
