hearing new words

such words I have never heard

these new words of Christ

shared with us in the open

here on the mountain

sitting at his feet, with them,

staring with the others

all of us with mouths open wide

not believing completely

but knowing these new words were

important, changing our lives

a new way of understanding blessedness

hearing new words of life
