Fired by the Flames – v3

No longer kindling
sitting in the pews
in our locked rooms
waiting for a spark
for the Spirit to come
Fired by the flames
the timid disciples changed
empowered, emboldened
to go in Jesus’ name

Able to go to the ends of the earth
messengers of His love
Going as we were called
guided from within
the Spirit telling us where to go
to be silent in our walk
listening for the voice of God
glowing with the Spirit
the fire burning within

“I have a glove here in my hand.  The glove cannot do anything by itself, but when my hand is in it, it can do many things.  True, it is not the glove, but my hand in the glove that acts.  We are gloves.  It is the Holy Spirit in us who is the hand, who does the job.  We have to make room for the hand so that every finger is filled.”
