Flames of Power
of the day, Pentecost
changing, burning clean
converting the timid
the disciples hiding in the
room
Bolding going, out into the
world
speaking with power
from the flames burning
within
the Spirit alighting their
spirits
words for their mouths
From that room, hidden alone
locked, praying
a church growing
to an end foretold
life in our Lord
Flames of power changing the
world
living within them, within
us
the Spirit alive, abiding,
indwelling,
spreading the fire, the
Message
in the living of the Word

“Almighty God, Giver of knowledge and might, we come
before your throne to worship You in Spirit and truth. We
pray that your Spirit of illumination would fall upon us
gathered here today so that we may hear your still small
voice, guiding us as we sojourn through this world. May

feel Your presence with us here today. Come Spirit, fill
