my stubborn mud
my stiffening clay
drying as I grow older
more stuck in my beliefs
not giving to His touch
not bending to God’s way
my stiffening clay
drying out in life
stubborn before change
the arguments of youth
longing for consistency
not seeing the beauty
only in black and white
