may I stand in their shoes
understanding their
perspective
before I speak a word
or lash out in anger
may I share compassion
may I offer love
being merciful in my walk
thinking of the other
those who may hurt me
may I stand in their shoes
may I think of them, truly,
before I speak a word
or seek vengeance
may I speak Jesus
not words of judgment
may I talk to them
those who may hurt me
being love in my walk.
