While they were still
waiting
watching for the guards
fear gripping the disciples
hiding in the upper room
not sure where to go
On the day He rose
showing himself to them
those who had followed
who had answered His call
those hiding, in grief, in
fear
He came to them in secret
not hindered by walls or
doors
on the day He rose
He spoke peace to them
breathing the Spirit
On the day He rose
He gave them power
commissioning them to built
the church
to be His hands and feet
to continue God’s work
