Christ knew He would suffer
that He would climb the cross
Christ knew before He descended
before He was born in Bethlehem
before He lay in the manger bed
God send down Jesus
from His royal throne
to be born among us
to be our Savior, the Messiah,
the One long promised
Jesus came down, the Messiah
the One long foretold
to sacrifice, to atone
to make a way for us
the Way to our heavenly home
