in our wagon – v3

when we cry out to God
tired on the journey
losing joy in the process
feeling like it is too much,
carrying too great a load.

in truth it is ourselves,
seeking to help others,
the weight in our wagon
in not trusting in God
we become tired, sore.

the yoke becoming too heavy
carrying rocks, stones that are not
ours to carry, not our gifts
which God has given us
for the tasks on our true path

when we accept the requests
bearing others’ burdens
their call from God,
we become tired ourselves,
carrying stones that are not ours to carry

the yoke is actually light
that which God gives us
to carry in this life,
using our gifts for the kingdom
for the glory of God
