Turned from the wind – v2

In some sense, all of us
when we are in the winds
exposed, alone with our thoughts
naked on the summit
upon the high places, the peaks,
huddled against the wind
like the juniper, the mosses,
the trees remaining, bend over,
anchored in the rock, the soil,
the ground against the wind.

Turned from the wind – v2

February 11, 2010
Turned from the wind
hiking in New England, up through the tree line
and the quote from Thomas More,
from “A Man for All Season”,
talking of why he puts his faith in the law and in God,
see comment number 4.
“I would give the Devil the benefit of the Law” (for my own safety's sake)
