standing at the foot of the cross
falling to my knees with Mary
holding her in my arms
the mother of Jesus
weeping with Mary
through the long hours of Friday
as the life slipped from Him
my Lord and my Master
the one that I loved
feeling the horrible weight
of this moment, this reality
hearing my Shepherd’s voice
to take her as my mother
weeping with Mary
at the foot of the cross of Jesus
holding her in my arms
as the life slipped from Him
