Yes, Lord – v3

My words to Jesus weren’t written by the others
who wrote down Christ’s words, they weren’t written by me
when we were kneeling there at the foot of the cross;
Christ’s words fusing His body and His ministry
these words spoken by Christ to Mary, to me,
though James was His brother, saying,
“Here is your son; here is your mother.”

Through my tears, I cried out, “Yes, Lord, I am your servant,
I love you; I will be there for your mother.
She will not know want;
She has become my mother this day.”
These words were unwritten, these words I spoke,
as I looked up at Jesus, my Master, my Savior,
as I held His anguished mother, at the foot of His cross.
