Fragrance of grape

A picture conjured, emerging

summer fruit rotting

Fragrance of grape, earth

overturned sod, a garden

Fields ready for picking

alive before autumn

Calling the pickers, the harvest

fresh from the earth pregnant

Succulent flesh, giving

to our furtive touch
