the fingers of the leaf – v3

watching from my seat

out the office window

a drama unfolding

in the midst of the storm

buffeted by the wind

as the storm raged on

pierced by the ice, the sleet,

torn but still resilient

the fingers of the leaf

wrapped around the twig

as the wind relented

but ripped and torn

twisted and turning

by the wind’s resurgence

holding on for dear life

as the leaf is able
