It is just 7 am
And my little world awakes.
There is dew in the morning.
Every spike of the saw-toothed
Wild strawberry leaves are gilded
With this morning’s tear.
The crown of each mint-green
Blueberry clutches
A single sparkling dewdrop.
A living carpet of moss is softened
By the morning mist.
Tiny spider webs in the lawn
Hold pearls of dew,
Outlining their maker’s artistry.
New birch leaves
Are ever-greener, alive.
Panes of mica in the
Granite underfoot
Hold a special sheen.
The world is brighter
When there is
Dew in the morning.
